A cold winter falls

on this proud election day

where I barfed a bit

Both the poetry and the count continues! As the official counters tell us they’ve passed half way (but reckon they aren’t quite at three-quarters just yet), Edwina continues to pull ahead – though a smattering of pitiful votes has come in for Minopoly, giving him a little bump in the polls.

At this stage in the evening, I can tell you that those of us at the town hall have placed our bets on what looks to be an easy win for Packard. Her lead continues to grow with each passing vote, while Mr Minopoly can’t seem to keep up the pace. No surprises there.

What would an Edwina Packard mayorship mean for Crumble?

You may recall that earlier in the elections, we released a little strengths and weaknesses summary of Edwina – and what her mayorship would mean for the town. Looking back, it has to be said that we were probably bang diddly on, although Edwina has shown some other strengths since the debates took place. Most notably, her physical strength, making her a mean opponent for both Alex and Murder Matt.

Then, Past Flynn reckoned her strengths were:

  1. Relationship building
  2. Knowing everybody’s secrets at all times
  3. Talking people to death

(we should probably at ‘stabbing people’ to the bottom there…)

Now it’s Present Flynn’s turn.

This is definitely a woman who knows how to talk to people. All through this election she’s been talking to people – talking talking talking, and annoying our poor Crusty Higgins to no end (they go to the same pub). Not to mention her blabber mouth getting ME into trouble up at Crumble lookout, and spoiling an otherwise perfectly spicy date to boot. I shant never forgive her.

It has to be said, she knows how to talk to people. All through this election she has been talking to people.

As mayor, though? MAYOR? M-A-Y-O-R? So, our personal animosity aside, I reckon she’d be quite capable of hearing the people’s voices, so long as those voices were telling her secrets that she could use as blackmail. No, that’s unfair, she is a listener, and many of us down at the town hall think she’ll make a decent mayor, if not great, because she’ll at least know what we want. The only downside might be that certain people with certain secrets may start to disappear, or the Overlords could kill her to death for talking too much during torture.

But you know? Neither of those are so bad.

She’s no Tom, but she’ll do.

– Flynn, with data from the Town Council
